Any of you gents near Houston, do keep us updated. My Mom is all alone out there and it's too late for me to do shit about it.
She did have travel tickets to Germany on Sunday, but it's looking doubtful she's going anywhere.

"Keep your heads up" may be a more appropriate call to action in this case. Life below the waterline is not one of lasting joy.Strykerguy56 wrote:Stay safe everybody, keep yer head down

I'll stick to my blizzards. So long as there's teenagers with snow shovels & I have a supply of $5 bills, I'll get by just fine snowed in.
Unless we're snowed in for too long, then the HH6 might want to kill me.

I spoke to my mother in Houston this morning (via cell phone).
20+ inches of rain thus far, power's been out for hours and the wind is hammering the area, but so far it doesn't sound like it's going to be devastating for those further inland.
My mother has a friend that remained behind in Galveston, and it sounds like he's underwater and has lost his sailboat. Those that were coastal will probably find severe devastation.
Those of you in that area probably won't see this message unless you've maintained power via generator and some form of Internet connectivity (cellular based probably still works). Let us know how you're faring once you're able.
