Introduction

Post by 125Tim »

Rangers,

I am Tim from Connecticut. I had trouble deciding between the Marine Corps and the Army for quite some time but I've decided to go with the Army. I'm not one to settle for anything less than the best and will not ever quit.

I have not signed a contract yet, however I hope I will be given an option 40.

APFT-Administered by myself

Pushups (2min) -- 40 (working on it...)
Situps (2min) -- 100
2-mile run -- 14:02

I scored a 96 on the ASVAB.

I am trying to decide on an MOS but I have narrowed it down to the following:

11x Infantry
68w Healthcare specialist
13F Fire Support Specialist

I want to be in the field. If I went with 68w could I end up in a hospital or somewhere other than in the field with the infantry?

Thank you for your time and advice, your experience is greatly appreciated.

Very Respectfully,
Tim

Ranger Unatainable E5,

Thank you, that is what I thought.

I'm leaning towards 11x, and doing a lot of push ups.

Very respectfully,
Tim

I'll assume that sucking dick for beer money is a medic thing or something...

125Tim,

I'm going to send you our DEP ROE, even though you don't offically meet all the requirements.

You seem to be looking for answers / help, who knows it might point you in the right direction.

Read and heed.

Welcome to ArmyRanger.com! The only way to make sure you have an Opt 40 on your contract is to not sign a contract unless it has an Opt 40 on it.

LOL, no it was an A Co fist/medic analogy for field time. A veritable geniuse named Dave Keeling came up with that one.
