What are the advantages associated with being an NRA member?
Why should anyone join?
Is it really worthwhile?

Didn't know Krispy Kreme's had internet access....BadMuther wrote:It's part of being an American Frenchie.Nomad wrote:I've been eyeing those credentials for a while. If my schedule remains as is, I should be able to get certified before the end of this year.
But what other things do you think make it worthwhile to be a member?

Automatic Insurance on weapons up to I think $5,000. Excellent lobby efforts for gun owners. Harsh challenges for anti-gun lobby. Very good educational sessions for young people, gun responsibility, shooting clinics, credentialed instruction, and a plethora of clinics from basic to extreme range.want2race wrote:You may not agree with 100% of what NRA puts out or says, but if you own a gun and like it, you should join to support them.
Without the NRA, we would be an unarmed nation already. England doesn't have an NRA.

I'm not the way I am because I was a Ranger - I was a Ranger because of the way I am.

They don't. At least not for the general public. I buy so many they decided it was financially in their best interest to set me up my own connection.Nomad wrote:Didn't know Krispy Kreme's had internet access....BadMuther wrote:It's part of being an American Frenchie.Nomad wrote:I've been eyeing those credentials for a while. At present I am only a member of Trout Unlimited. The NRA does a lot of good things, but like all such large organizations they do some fucked up things also. They probably spent $50 or more trying to milk me for more money. At one point they mailed out an unrequested video and then wanted you to pay for it or mail it back.Nomad wrote:So is it a fair assumption that all of you who have posted in this thread are current members of the NRA?

I heard the mailings are a pain in the ass, but I'll be surprised if I notice them under the dozens of new credit card, mortgage, auto loan and other junk offerings my house gets every week.
And since I do like idea that every dollar helps fight for our 2nd Amendment rights, I signed on for a one year membership.
