Question about PRC

Post by StrykeFirst »

First off, I wanna apologize in advance if Im just an idiot and there was a better place to post this question I just couldnt find it.

My PL approached me today and gave me the option of either going straight to Ranger School in early October which is my scheduled date, or going to the Pre-Ranger Course that the NG puts on at Benning then going to Ranger School.

My first instinct was "hell yea, extra training, im all for it" but then I got to looking at the dates of both courses and the end of the Pre-Ranger and the begining of Ranger school coincide...As in complete PRC, sign in to Ranger School.

Ok, so my question is this...Do the benefits of the extra 3 week course outweight the drawbacks which would be I'll be dog-ass tired and broke the fuck off even before I get to start Day 0 of Ranger School?

you only work like 12 days in PRC.

Like always told stud, "2 weeks in PRC is better than 30 days in the Gulag"

but hey, what the fuck would I know about it anyway :?

I'd go to Pre-Ranger first......Ranger School will less of a shock that way and, lower your chance of the dreaded re-cycle.

Go to the PRC.

I distinctly remembering all of those in my Class sharing your concerns of shipping to the real deal so close to finishing PRC, but we weren't as broke as we thought we were (in a couple months we learned what really being broke felt like).

yea, I can only imagine what really broke off feels like right now...I'll take the extra couple weeks of PRC, I can take the physical shit, so it can only help me on the rest of it...like OPORD and all that good shit a Spec only knows a little bit about. Appreciate the advice all

Good luck. You're doing the right thing. There's not such a thing as too much training.
