NG Pre Ranger question.

Post by m-14.762 »

Do you need a "Ranger" physical before Pre Ranger or will PRC square that away?

I have a soldier who is at benning right now, I am assuming I should tell him to make sure his physical is straight or else he will be booted from the course?

if he is in the course already the medics will fix anything wrong with his physical, if he ain't in PRC, he needs to get it done to include a copy of his panorex

+1 on getting the panorex before PRC, not having a panorex on file is a quick way to get dropped from RS before you even hit Malvesti.

we had 2 guys in my Battalion (both e-5's) lose all their luggage (minus medical/personnel records that were hand carried) enroute to school.... make a command decision to link up with local relatives during zero-week instead of inprocessing/reporting in to RTB, and promptly got sent back because of missing panorexs.... which could have easily been fed-ex'd in time had they reported in for zero-week.

a metric shit ton of hilarity ensued !!

you'll know when your guy has completed his Ranger physical when he phones you...... sounding sullen and depressed..... signifying he successfully got his "oil checked".

Getting a physical is something that should be done prior to the stud leaving his home station! The way I usually run my Joe's through the wringer is I allow them to show me how serious they are by completing all the pre-requisites. If a guy can't manage his time to get a physical, then it is highly unlikely he'll meet the "We move in 20-minutes" deadline required of Patrol leaders.
