devilrat35,
I concur with Ranger Sobersides about not running and I would try to stretch a couple of times a day by standing (toes only) on a stair or say a curb. That is if you can tolerate the pain.
You can bike stationary or outside to maintain your cardio until your ship date.
I am no expert, however, I do run regularly.
Good luck,

Ice down your shins and take Ibuprophine 800mg's worth. Run once a week to sustain what you got don't go over 3 miles. Stretch them out. Sit on your shins with your knees together, toes pointed backward. Like the others said swim, bike or stairmaster.

You should take Ibuprofen because it reduces inflimation. Reducing inflimation promotes healing. The added benefit is that it is a pain killer.devilrat35 wrote:Thank you to all the vets and Rangers who offered advice on this, it's two weeks later and I ran a little (not far, like one block) and it's gone from pain to a dull ache so I think I'm pretty much almost healed. I haven't ran at all or taken Ibuprofen though, the running because I just want my legs 100% when I go into basic and the Ibuprofen cause I have no job anymore and no money to buy it. The pain wasn't bad enough for me to need them anyways, I didn't get major shin splints, just minor.
Anyhow just been icing my legs once or twice a day for 20 min apiece and stretching when I remember. Just been doing a lot of pushups in the meantime. But the advice worked so thanks!
