Women like service men?

I'm not in the service yet, nor have I signed a contract but I wear an Army sweatshirt around (more for support of my brother who is a Cav Scout currently deployed and the rest of the armed forces). I have had several friends of friends come talk to me at parties that I had seen before but had never talked to and I nailed one and I think it was just because of the shirt! Is this a common thing for everyone else?
