Hello

Post by Caleb »

My name is Caleb, I am 21 years of age and work in a service technician's position currently. I am conditioning myself physically for the Army, I have not contacted a recruiter yet to speak about enlistment. I have a friend who is acting as a mentor to me about my experience, he is a Ranger but is not a member of this board. He has been out of the service for some number of years but was active during Panama, I do recall the exact class he graduated from but I could obtain the information if necessary.

I am one of many aspiring to become a Ranger, I have lived my life just kind of floating by. This was not very fulfilling or satisfying and quite undesirable, I can not think of anything more honorable than serving in the military and have always felt this way. I was too chicken shit before to even think of it but I have come to face up to it and hopefully earn my own rite of passage. Respectfully and humbly. -Caleb

Welcome to the site. Thanks for your desire to become a US Army Ranger. Yes, do tell your mentor to stop in and say hi, we have many Panama era veterans on site. I'm sure someone here knows him.

Without divulging too much information his name is Mike, he has the nickname of "Noodle" now-a-days. Don't know if he carried that nickname back then as well.

Not a bad introduction. Assuming that you really want to become a Ranger, you came to the right site. Please give us a brief discussion on why you think you want to become a Ranger and how you are preparing yourself to succeed -- and post it here before Sunday, 8 October 2006. Thank you.
