Not sure if this is the way to do it...

Hello, I'm Joel, I'm 26, a college graduate, play soccer, parkour, brazillian martial arts, and rugby.....I'm signing up to be a Ranger this week, plan on shipping out as soon as my recruiter says there's an opening. I'm getting Option 40....is there anything else I need to have/get on the contract??

I'm signing up mainly for one last, great adventure. I intend to make it through the whole Ranger thing, and do it well. Any support and/or advise would be bloody fantastic.

Thanks.
Joel

That is a perplexing statement as you either are hinting at the fact that you do not count on ever doing anything else in life or that you think your life's work will be concluded by possiblybecoming a Ranger.

Either ways, you sound like you have the right mentality to do this.

Oh yeah, you're in for an adventure all right. Notihng is more thrilling than holding a fellow Ranger when he's bleeding and it's even more exciting when it's you yourself doing the bleeding.

sparrow26, you need to change your avatar to one from the Newts or Newts2 selections.

Amen Sir.

This ain't Boy Scout camp you're looking at, an it ain't rugby nor martial arts, that stuff means nothing here.

Fighting is not an adventure, this war is not an adventure, you need to go visit Arlington National Cemetary and take in a little bit of reality. That's the end result of war, it ain't all that fun.

Good luck.

Joel, a man has only one opportunity to make a favorable initial impression. Sadly, you failed. You may have realized that this is not a site that is given to bragging or showing off. If, on the other hand, you truly desire the privilege of service in the Ranger Regiment, you have come to the right place. Read all the FAQs, stickies and select threads. Read the Ranger Creed and think about what it means; it should not be taken lightly. Saying that you want something is a far cry from doing it. One of the purposes this site serves is to assist young men in their preparation for service with the Ranger Regiment. Almost every question you have has been asked before; the search button is your friend. Resist the urge to hit the submit button.
