Graduated RIP today
Graduated RIP today
I haven't reported back since I shipped out for the Army in June, so this post is overdue. Since then, I completed Basic in October, had a blast during Airborne school and graduated from Charlie Company on Nov. 18th, and just graduated today from RIP class 03-06 with 29 other guys.
The graduation ceremony today was pretty meaningful. Legends like COL Ralph Puckett were there, and it was truly humbling to shake his hand and receive his congratulations.
I owe a big debt to the Rangers on this site. I haven't posted on this site very much, but I visited the forum almost daily before I joined the Army and while I was in the DEP. It was a great source of information and motivation. I never would have known to insist on an Option 40 contract when I enlisted nor what to expect during RIP.
Rangers, it's an honor to be part of your legacy. I'll do my best to carry on your traditions. I know the big challenges are all up ahead. I'm sure adjusting to life in Battalion and completing Ranger School will be much harder than RIP, but I'll give it one hundred percent and then some. Thanks again for all your information and support.

Outstanding!
Glad to see another 'cherry' make it into the Ranger family.
Earning the title 'Ranger' is the easy part, living up to it is the sunnavabitch.
