Here is my INTRO:
My son has been in the Army since Aug 04.He loves what he is doing thus far. He is now a PFC and in Ranger School, with a grad date of Nov 23 (fingers, toes & eyes crossed). Never been in active service.
Oh- Today is his 20th Birthday...

SO, we are very very proud of his accomplishments thus far. We want to support him in every way possible, which means attending his Ranger Graduation on THANKSGIVING Week, thank you very much! (He graduated BT same time last year, so it seems we are developing a pattern of poor timing).
questions...
Will he return to his prior company, or are Rangers given a new Ballalion, Company? The reason I ask is his company is supposed to deploy 1st or 2 nd week of december & wondered if he will be recovered enough.
How does the Graduation week work- will he have any time with us anytime before Graduation? What he do after graduation- will he have to stay on Benning, or is he given time off? (after Basic, he had 2 weeks, so we flew him home to hang with friends & family. Was wondering if he will have any of that this time around).
My daughters also want to celebrate his accomplishment and spend time with him, but they are both college students with mid terms, projects and homework as well as jobs to concider. So time management is a priority.
We are getting ready to purchase plane and hotel reservations before the prices hit the roof or they are sold out, and before we know for SURE that he will even graduate.
Just how much time should we allow to spend with him? I am guessing that Monday- Friday would be a fairly sure bet, but it is Thanksgiving week, so he may have more free time-maybe?
Is Monday to early to get to Atlanta with a graduation on Wednesday? When should we make the return trip home? We want to spend as MUCH time as we can with him, concidering he could-to the best of our knowledge- be deployed in a very short week following graduation.
Totally clueless abt his schedule and frustrated as hell!
Thanks for any help!
