When I enlisted, a Marine recruiter gave me a hard time and bashed the Army. All the branch's offices were right next to each other, so they(recruiters) were like vultures waiting to tear fresh meat out of the other vulture's mouths. When I joined, I really couldn't explain the differences between the Army and the Marine Corp, I just chose the Army. ArmyRanger.com and many other sites are such a great source of info for a person trying to make a decission on who/what/where to join. I wish I could have made an informed decission, not that it would have changed my branch, just my mos.

I think most soldiers hate recruiters because of seemingly shady things that they do to get people to enlist. My recruiter was not honest and didn't try very hard; but, he didn't have to. I walked into the office to join, not to fuck around and dick back and forth.

Now, on to the minority bullshit.

I had to go to a required EO, or sensitivity course one time. One of the topics was being a minority in the Army. Some of the black soldiers started talking about discrimination and about white people. Me being the asshole that I am, stood up and said, "None of you or your parents were slaves. What the hell are you talking about?" Well, the shit hit the fan then. I was referred to as 'a white boy who didn't know shit'. Yes, I'm white, actually, I am a legal percentage of Cherokee; but, I have blond hair and blue eyes. I have been discriminated against because of my race.

WHO GIVES A FUCK?

We are Americans, who are supposed to support the fucking place that we live. If those pukes don't want to join because they don't agree with whatever the fuck is going on, fuck 'em.

I'm sick and fucking tired of hearing the following terms:

minority,

black,

white,

and for the most hated of all

The media has been reporting lower than "normal" enlistments...
Is there any backlash for recruiters that have trouble enlisting new soldiers?

everyone knows about the mission "qoutas" or whatever you want to call it. it's not on the individual. it's on the team. if the team fails everyone gets screwed.

recruiters at one time could be fried if mission was not made. now, noone can be rated negatively if they are not a goos recruiter. it's now about being a good Soldier. even good Soldier can't make people join. the Army can't ruin you for that.

recruiting command is now focused on leadership. they've been without it so long, the command is starting to implode. they were focused on sales and marketing and NOT on Soldiering. the chicken have come home to roost.

how can a salesman 79R manage the careers and work habits of a 2 time OIF vet who doesn't want to be there in the first place? they can't. time to own up on the part of USAREC. time to put Soldiers back into the command.

Hence the involuntary conversion of many Warriors out in the big army to Career recruiter MOS 79R.

i do NOT agree with the conversion, but i think USARC is trying to do a good thing by making people in recruiting feel like Soldiers as opposed to slaves. maybe the command will be somewhere worth serving in the nnext 10 years.

not for me, be for someone. who knows.

the lower than normal recruiting efforts are only being watched because liberals want something to toss around. we are at war. we don't draft. how many dedicated volunteers do you think we're gonna get?

i would rather put in one person who wants to serve than 5 who want the college money.

recruiting is down in the back community. it's up in white and hispanic areas. don't know what to attriute it to, other than more of those races want to serve. nothing to dig into anyway.
