Need a little help

I know you Rangers can help me with this since I couldn't find the answer searching for it..my question is my former squad leader had informed last year before he departed the reserves that once I make it to RIP and pass through that most likely I will sit in a Ranger Battlion for a while before I go through Ranger school itself...is this true and if so .why? Thanks for your help Rangers HOOAH

Your near range goals are exactly the same.
