MikeP introduction
Hello to all,
I served in the 2eme cie, 2eme REP (French Foreign Legion) from 84 - 89.
I joined at 18yrs old and served all my Legion service in the 2eme Cie 2eme REP. I served in Central Africa, Chad and Djibouti. This was a pretty quiet time due to the cold war and I wanted to see some action somewhere and so I left after 5 years at 23 yrs old
I ended up 10 months later fighting in South America and since I have been in the private security world. I am presently working in Algeria. I'm now 39 and still strong enough and fit enough to go back tomorrow.
I came across this site whilst surfing the internet at work.I knew a Ranger who served in my section in the REP and decided to take a look around the site. I hope that you all appreciate that it is difficult to say too much here on an open forum but I like what I have seen here and would like to spend some time on the site, read what you all have to say and contribute wherever I am able.
Best regards
Mike

Hell there Ranger RGRPUCK, firstly apologies to all for posting this in the wrong section, this was done in error!
I'm English and when I pitched up in France I spoke no French at all. I had 6 months prior experience in the British para TA (reserve) and decided to join the legion as it seemed far more exciting than spending time in the Brit army touring Germany and Northern Ireland. I don't regret my decision on joining nor on leaving. I am now 39 and starting to feel pretty nostalgic as once I hit 40 I am too old to go back!! I have a great job though and have a lot of my former legion collegues working out here with me.
Best regards
