I wish to know, Ranger ., because I want to know if I joined the Regiment as a medic, FO, etc. if I would still be able to learn the same tactics that the infantry get to learn, or if that is reserved for infantry Rangers.
I joined the Rangers as a medic and after RIP I could beat off equally well using either hand while road marching or fighting TIGERS! Because in RIP you FIGHT TIGERS!
You are killing me brother!!!!

Because we have become sensitive about hurting people's feelings. That, and the new union trades rules.

It's not a bad question.

Way back when (64 when I went in), there were no organized Ranger units. Army policy at the time was that each combat arms unit at the platoon or company level would have one ranger qualified NCO or officer.

I had a 91B (medic) MOS in 68 when I went through Ranger School so the only infantry training that I had was BCT. Later on I got an 11F MOS which was SF O&I which got simplified later on to 11B. So I was ushered into the infantry through the back door.

Now, no shitheads call me a poser about the MOS numbers...first do your homework and you'll see that SF back then used regular Army MOS numbers and did not have a separate set for SF.
