Eric Haney "Inside Delta Force"

Post by m-14.762 »

Is this a good book? Was CSM Eric Haney a Founding member of Delta?

I apoligize for screwing up the spelling, no wonder I couldn't find anything on him with my searches.

Why don't you read it and make your own decision as to whether it's good or not.
There are plenty of posts here and on the internet that discuss Haney's claims and their veracity.

The only way you're going to find out what you really want to know about those types of units is to get selected and to serve in one. Thats only my opinion. I could be wrong. Or, you might want to google "Have a good 'un.

If it's not desireable for information to be distributed about a certain unit, what makes you think the information anyone would give you would be accurate?

BTW - is that show 'The Unit' any good (entertaining)? I almost bought a season of it the other day. How does it compare to 24 for example?

I have watched a few, when nothing else is on, I thought some parts are cool, some scenes I thought were incredibly stupid.

I have never watched 24, if I do waste time watching TV I usually watch some version of Law and Order

I watched a few episodes of Jericho, I thought that show had potential but too much Mr. Nice Guy shit for a nuclear war scenario

Probably about average for cheesy TV shows. 24 is better. CSI Miami is best from a hot women standpoint...

The first few were ok, aside from the fact that in the first episode they did a MFF onto an American Target. Lately they've only been operating on U.S soil. Posse Comitatus, anyone?

I watched one of the first few episodes. When he (the CSM type, big black dude who's also on 24), walks into a hangar and said, I need some volunteers...who here is Ranger qual'd? Two guys raise their hands and he said, you're in, let's go....

I turned it off.

If Haney is gonna be PNG'd by his brothers, he could at least make it count. That shit is just ridiculous IMO.

I knew Eric Haney when he was the CSM of the 193d Inf Bde. He was a superb soldier and leader.

I tried watching it...made it through all of 20 minutes before I changed the channel.

The book isn't all that bad though.
