They could just stop reinventing the wheel. If they want soldiers tested in basic soldier skills, have everyone do EIB testing. They want medical testing? EFMB already exists. When the test is complete, grunts get an EIB, medics get the EFMB everyone else gets some blisters and goes back to there desk, or spoon, or whatever and does their real job- support the warfighters.

Not trying to minimize any enabler's efforts, but you frankly you are either Infantry or you work in support of Infantry. (I lump all ground combat elements in as Infantry. Sue me.)

I wouldn't say I disagree with everything he says... just the vast majority of it.

The badge will be earned, just like any other out there. This isn't the free candy bus. He says that he didn't pick his path as an artillery person to earn badges and whatnot... Ok, I don't think any of us join for badges or ribbons. I dunno, that article relates the addition of a badge in the military to a "prize for everyone" issue in the parenting world. That's a bit of a stretch for me. The problem with websites and articles like this to me is that it is not news and barely opinion. It's just someone who wants to gain readers or be dramatic to stir the pot.

As for the new devices to ribbons... I dunno, I need to read a bit more on it. I don't really understand the need for them.
