Possible felony charges against Petraeus

Post by Flesh Thorn »

WASHINGTON — The F.B.I. and Justice Department prosecutors have recommended bringing felony charges against David H. Petraeus, contending that he provided classified information to a lover while he was director of the C.I.A., officials said, leaving Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to decide whether to seek an indictment that could send the pre-eminent military officer of his generation to prison.

The Justice Department investigation stems from an affair Mr. Petraeus had with Paula Broadwell, an Army Reserve officer who was writing his biography, and focuses on whether he gave her access to his C.I.A. email account and other highly classified information.

I say give him whatever punishment he doled out to subordinates that may have committed a similar offense.

Fuck Super Dave. Other than him being a pt stud as a general, I don't have much of anything good to say about him. The numerous times I had occasion to deal with him and his entourage left me questioning his leadership.
On a related note, I watched one of his entourage blackhawks absorb a whole lotta dollars in damage from landing where I just told them not to. That was a fun investigation afterwards  .

Attention in the compound-

I will reiterate: fuck super Dave once again. Especially now that he's an admitted and convicted criminal.

That is all.

I will be bumping this back up to heap more shit on the lineage and parentage of Super Dave. He's apparently gone full dipshit and is now apart of a group to is promoting common sense gun laws.
Him and several other former prominent Generals. What part of shall not be infringed is hard for these people to understand?

I have not read anything else. But, I haven't been actively looking either. I think I saw something on the Havoc journal, an op-ed possibly.

Sorry Jim, I did not see your post until today.

Basically, the gist of the op-ed was that the Generals and Admirals that signed on to this group, the likes of which included Petraeus, Mcchrystal, Olsen, and a few others I don't recall off the top of my head, should be listened to because they served in a profession of arms. And since they were officers, their opinions are automatically golden. It went on to say that them having this version of opinions does not make them traitors.

I personally do not think they are traitors for their opinions. I think they are idiots, but that is another story. In my professional opinion, no gun control measures will ever work. There is no such thing as common sense gun control.

Reason 1 is that laws only apply to law abiding people. Criminals are criminals for a reason- they do what they want regardless of what the law says.

Reason 2 is also fairly straightforward, at least for the time being. "Shall not be infringed" is one of self explanatory. And that is even with the recognition that the Supreme Court has stated that rights are not all encompassing (the yelling of fire in a crowded theater for example).

Now, having said all of that, I also realize that there are ways for some to lose their rights permanently. But those all involve due process, with numerous levels of scrutiny and the ability to appeal. If the powers that be want to attempt to curtail rights within the current framework of the law, so be it. Or even adding a constitutional convention to alter the BOR. Those are all ways to try it.

I honestly think that if we have a civil melt down or war, it will revolve around gun rights. We didn't do much against the Brits until they came for our guns. The civil war was fought over state rights. So we have a precedent.

Sorry about the length, I didn't realize I brought my soap box with me.

I don't think Petraeus even cares about gun control. I think he is looking for a hot-button topic to jump on to get his name back out there and try to skyrocket to relevancy once again. Allow me to paraphrase what my esteemed colleagues from the Puking Buzzard division said--"fuck that guy".
