Letter From School - Lyric

Post by Lyric »

Hello Rangers, I decided to switch my posts over to this forum because Im in AIT.

Update: I have passed all my tests for 68W and have less than 3 weeks left until graduation. It looks like the ship date for RASP will be May 8th, but nothing is guaranteed. Im going to use that month to train, study, and recover. My updated Pt scores—

Pushups: 88
Situps: 72
Chin Ups: 17
2 Mile: 13:34

I also signed up for a marathon two days before the race started just to get off base and try something challenging. The most Ive ever ran at once was 13 miles and I was severely underprepared, but nonetheless I finished.

I have been fortunate to find a couple good dudes who are motivated and push me to work harder. Other than them I try not to even talk to anyone else. The negativity here is unbelievable. It’s embarrassing how much our company lacks discipline and motivation. Just gotta focus on the goal and ignore the bullshit.

Lyric,

I updated your rank and gave you access to some additional information and forums. Please check them out if you have time.

Pretty awesome you finished. That is something Id like to do as the furthest I have gone is 18 miles. Not getting any younger over here for it... Ha.

Any of the others you are with going to RASP as well?

Rangers, Got back from our final ftx and was told they changed my ship date to April 11. I was not expecting to leave this soon at all, but all I can do is give it all I got.

Definitely going to check out those forums.

Yes. They actually offered RASP to literally anyone who raised their hand. There is a total of 26 of us, but only 3 or 4 who I train with. Its crazy how many soldiers going can barely pass a pt test. They seem to be relying on Pre-Rasp instead of training now.

Pretty much all of us stick in a small group to get us through. And dozens peel off while you all focus on your goals. April 11th has come and gone. Did you make it to Benning? How was your first full week there?

Roger Ranger Disinfertention. The first week has been good. We came with 26 and 8 have already dropped. The next class starts in 5 weeks so I have plenty of time to learn my history and work on my weaknesses. Pre-Rasp is not what I expected whatsoever, but in a good way. You get more privileges while also having more responsibilities. The cadre are professional and everything runs smoothly. All they ask for is 100% effort.

How are you doing? It has been a few weeks. Check in when you can! Even if things don't work how you want. That's part of all of our journeys.
