I ran a timed one on a track over HBL a couple days after Christmas at sea level in 31:21. I really want to get it down to the sub-30's.

I don't see many people pull that off. I can think of 1 guy I used to work with who did it on a treadmill for sure, not sure if he did it on the road or not. Always have tough goals!

Ranger Disinfertention,
It may take optimal conditions for everything but one day, somewhere, somehow, it's a goal I really want to meet.

Rangers,
It's been another slow but successful week here. I tested out of another module early this week, so one big step closer to graduation. We start GAFP-B testing next week.
We also finally got to start PT with the Ranger liaison. We had an about 6 mile ruck through the mountains on Thursday.
Ranger IntelToad, we went from the 305th barracks to a hill I forget the name of, then Star Hill, then Reservoir hill. At Reservoir hill, we fireman carried each other up the hill. We finished in about 1 hour 45 minutes including the buddy carries. It was a good ruck and it was nice to finally be doing PT with the Rangers.

Sounds good Andrew... Glad you are staying ahead of the curve on all your testing. Keep it up. Who's your Ranger rep out there? PM me their name when you get a chance.

I remember those hills well, and the altitude is going to really help when you get down to sea level again. Around when are you graduating ?

Ranger IntelToad,
We graduate at the end of next month. We're below the 30 day mark.

Rangers,
This will probably be my last update until graduation as we wrap up everything.
This week we conducted the GAFPB. Last friday we conducted the German BFT, an 11x10 meter sprint, a flexed arm hang, and a 1000 meter run. I got gold in all three events. We also conducted the 100 meter swim in uniform on Monday, which I got a 2:24 on, and a 12k 45 pound ruck march on Wednesday, which I got 1:14 on. All we have left is the pistol qualification, which may or may not happen because of legal issues, but if I score gold there I can qualify gold for the whole award.

We do weapons immersion next week and are getting reverted to black phase for that, but it's not for too long. After weapons immersion, we'll have some more small items and then graduation.

We had another ruck today with the Ranger liaison. They are good rucks, this time we went up Heritage Hill from 305th.

There is not much else to report, just getting ready to move on. We completed our Airborne physicals on Tuesday.

DEPs, push to do Airborne physicals as soon as you can at AIT, not when the Platoon Sergeant tells you to. The class before us is still holdovers, and I'll likely be a holdover.

Rangers,
Our graduation is complete. I got Soldier of the Cycle, and it was fun to enjoy some time with my battles one last time.

It turns out I'll be a hold here for an undetermined amount of time. I'm waiting on my Commander to slot me for Airborne. In the meantime, I've been earning promotion points via online certifications and hitting the gym. I'm willing to wait however long it takes to get a shot at RASP.

The Ranger liaison has set up activities for all MOS-Q'd Intel Option 40's in the meantime. We have a RFT later this week and a confidence course weekly, plus the ruck marches every other week.

Great to hear from you, Andrew. Unfortunately in this community getting Solider of the Cycle is expected, meaning I am not surprised at all. That being said, it is outstanding. Setting the example for others to follow.

Update us as soon as you can on your status with getting to Benning and Jump school.

Really? You have an OPT 40 right?... Clearly... why are they holding on to you for 2-4 weeks. That is bullshit. Not to say you need to go nuclear on your PSG or anyone. But why are they holding you at your AIT for that long. Talk to the Ranger LNO there if you can - they are having some of the same issues at Sill for getting guys out the door to Benning in a timely manner.

And again, take what I say with a grain of salt - Don't get someone pissy at you!

Roger, Ranger Disinfertention, I do have an Option 40.

The way I understand it is although I've had a spot at Airborne since I signed my contract, the Commander here will only slot us after we graduate. The class I was supposed to be in was already filled because it started 5 days after I graduated, and thus I have to wait until
a slot opens up for another class. I was told Airborne classes start up every two weeks.

I've talked to almost all the PSGs about this and although I've had my paperwork in for weeks, this is "the way it works."

Still, I'm trying to look at this as an opportunity to prepare instead of BS and not let it get me down. I'll do whatever it takes to get a spot at RASP 😁

Yep, you have a better attitude than I had when I read your post!

I would still mention it to any Ranger LNO's there. Like I said, they have had an issue like this at Sill where guys get stuck in limbo for way too long.
