I would still mention it to any Ranger LNO's there. Like I said, they have had an issue like this at Sill where guys get stuck in limbo for way too long.
Roger, Ranger Disinfertention. I'll see the Rangers on Thursday for our ruck and obstacle course.

Rangers,
I have a brief update on my status, but not much.

The office responsible for handing out Airborne slots, I found out yesterday, misplaced the 4th copy of my PT card given to them. As of today, I am still no closer to getting an Airborne slot than a month ago, but there is at least communication now. There is frustratingly little I can do, I found out, other than wait.

At this point, I can't worry too much because I can't do anything short of email my congressman for little effect, and because I know I am too late to ship to Airborne and still make the April RASP class, thus putting me in Pre-RASP until June anyways, according to ATRRS.

I got very lucky, and my old PSG gave the other Option 40 and I the opportunity to conduct our own PT seperately in the morning. This has been very nice, as we have been skipping the PRT nonsense and going on longer and/or faster runs, in addition to having access to both a gym, track, and track equipment now, and having time in the evening to conduct additional PT.

I got on a detail working with the 09L interpreters at their schoolhouse, which has been beneficial for me, seeing as I will be working with interpreters in my job very often. I've been learning a lot there.

I also have started trying to learn Russian, and knocking out what computer-based training I can. I'm mostly just trying to stay positive, at this point, and use this time to prepare even more.

Hey Andrew. That's crappy news but glad to see this at the end of your post. Leverage the time you have the best you can. It's easy to get lost in the "hurry up and wait" machine of the Army.

'Bout damn time. And agree, it's going to be a great time minus all that shuffling around.

Rangers,
I just finished graduating from Airborne and move to Pre-RASP Monday. I don't have much new to contribute about Airborne, but jumping is one of the most surreal things I've ever done, and if I could keep going back up every day I would. Words don't describe the feeling of jumping adequately.

Also, that Airborne Shuffle is very frustrating. Not hard, just... frustrating.

Rangers,
I apologize for not mentioning it too but because I went from AIT to BAC early, they pushed me into the April 2nd BAC class instead of the April 9th.

Well done, Andrew. Try to stay in touch as you head into Pre-RASP. Did you get to be the #1 jumper on any of your jumps? I recall being the first jumper on our night jump in school I believe... Maybe it was a day jump and I was scared with my eyes closed... either way, that was fun.

Ranger Disinfertention,
I did not, unfortunately. My roster number had me in the middle of the pass both on the C17 and the C130. I wish I had though, that would definitely have been unique.

Rangers,
Rednovember, atl456, and I all took the PT test today to class up for RASP. Rednovember and I will both be classing up, and hopefully atl456 will join the next class in August.

I've had several opportunities to talk to the Rangers who graduated with last class from the forums, and they gave some very helpful advice.

We will go on lockdown friday, and officially start Monday. I've waited 11 months in the Army for this opportunity and I'm incredibly happy to finally get a shot, and get to do it with a couple of great guys.

Good news. You won't have much spare time, but keep alt456 in the loop and motivated when you can. Most importantly, you two stick together. Finish strong. I hope to be there.
