Option 40 National Call to Service

Post by RMike »

Rangers,

In seeking to serve with the 75th Ranger Regiment, the advice on this board has indicated an Option 40 contract is in fact the best route. Apparently, there is a 36 month retainability requirement in order to attend RASP. However, on this forum, I've seen that in the past the 2 year enlistment option was available for Rangers. Upon researching it, the 2 year enlistment is currently known as the National Call to Service. Is the National Call to Service 2 year enlistment currently available with an Option 40? Or are all Option 40s, regardless of MOS, 3 years + IET time?

Thank you Rangers.

Did some research into this and it does not look like there is an option 40 component available.

Understood, it makes sense considering the 3 year retainability requirement after RASP. If that's the case, perhaps one can surmise that 3 year Option 40s most likely do not even exist and they are only offered in increments of 4 years on and 4 years off. Thank you for your help Ranger Jim.
