No shit. My class had snickers bars too, that were washed down by peanut butter sandwiches that we had to first secure during a raid and then transport to the patrol base. (Had to love the last walk of some RI's).

little sleep, little food, lots and lots of rucking and a couple of nasty infections.....oh and the ever fun "show me where you are Ranger" with a pine needle.....snakes, spiders and blue falcons tend to round out the experience.

Florida Phase is the worse for Batt Guys. Everyone that is a PL or APL always picks the Batt Guys for the Squad Lder positions or to build the rope bridges and recons, and basically every other position that requires someone to do work, because they want to get enough GO's on their patrol to graduate and so they rely on the Batt Guys.

I had one of the 1st two patrols in Florida, got my "Go" and then.........."It was on!"

Course I deserved it after mountains where my RI was a guy I knew from C Co 1/75 by the name of "SFC Gorski"  :( AND having my chow stolen in Dugway (if its the last thing I do "I will find you and I will KILL YOU!" )

Damn I loved Ham and Chicken Loaf!

Listen to your Ranger buddies. I took a "Left" when I should have taken a "right" on the top of a ridge (I was the PL).

My Ranger buddy stopped me about 50 meters into the "turn" and asked me "what was up?"

I got a go because I didn't get all butt hurt about an on the spot correction by a Ranger buddy. He squared my ass away.

I loved Florida Phase. We were getting one mre a day. They would issue 3 mre's for a 3 day mission, during the planning phase. Some of those knuckleheads would eat their 3 meals even before we went through the line to start the mission. Those hungry motherfuckers were begging for food for the next 3 days. Good times.

Nothing sucks worse than being squad leader on the last day in Florida, when you know you've already got your shit. Especially when some foreign officer is the PL and still trying to get his primary leadership go.

Hardest thing I remember was keepting my hatchet scoured. We ate plenty though. Couple of Officers died of mysterious wounds.....we ate em. Not bad actually.

Do they still do the raid in RS where you take a pen full of live chickens and rabbits and split them up to kill and cook, or has PETA put a stop to that?
