Fat/Muscle boy to Army

Post by RAIDER »

Well Good Morning RANGERS!!!

So I have a friend that plays arena football. He wants to be a RANGER! Because they lead the way....ALL THE WAY!!! But he has to lose some weight and get in Ranger SHAPE. He's a defensive linemen so he's fast and agile, he's also 6 foot 3. Firstly, he's 330lbs. He PT Tested himself and of course he wasn't happy with his score. For the 5mile run he got 55:54 min/seconds, and for the 2mile run he got 19min. For Push ups he got 66. For Sit ups he got 70. He recently did a 10mile ruck with 80lbs in 2hrs and 20mins. So Rangers, do you have any suggestions for him, to meet his goal? Thank you Ranger!!!!

Run. Run fast.

Less calories.

Run some more.

Doing nine minute miles is not that good.

It sounds flippant, but that is pretty much it. Other than that, look on various other pages of this site.

Raider, you have never posted a self-administered PT test. I don't know why you posted this thread, but self-administer a PT test and post it on this thread and tell us about your breathing problems. Let your friends take care of themselves.

Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I never got a notification for the replies. My breathing problems are looking good. But before I enlist I want to test myself. I want to do at least three "GoRuck" events(Based on SFAS). The one I really need to do(to see if I have what it takes) is the "GoRuck: Selection" which is 48+ hrs long.

GoRuck: Challenge(12 hrs)........links deleted by Admin - No Advertising

GoRuck: Heavy(24hrs).....links deleted by Admin - No Advertising

GoRuck: Selection(48+ hrs)......links deleted by Admin - No Advertising. Post anymore Advertising links and you will be banned

If I can complete those, do you think I'll be ready for RASP?

I'm planning on running a half-marathon later this year. I can at least run 8 miles(jog). Today I just ran 5miles with a 30lb ruck in 1 hr and 6 minutes. I'm also part of Stew Smith's(fmr SEAL) Spec Ops Fitness group in Maryland.

I personally do not want to do anything with you. Go talk to a recruiter.

You RAIDER, started this thread about a friend and changed it into an advertising event. We do not need you to share with us other places you will think will get you to RASP. You are a guest & it is not up to you to advise our populace to go elsewhere when we already have programs that are proven to work by our own DEP's that they themselves have become Rangers by working with us.
Next time you Advertise you are history.

Ranger Jim asked you a question on May 29th & you completely ignored him. (Should have been your 2nd warning.)

Thats actually 3 warnings you should have, three by not stating my name with you weak response, "Sorry for the links, bla bla bla"
It's called disrespecting a Ranger #'s 2 & 3.

You should go play somewhere else.
