I don't even do pushups anymore. I work at TRADOC.

Edit:   I like how I never added anyone's name to the club.

Damn sounds like helluva fuckin' challenge , one that I would be glad to pursue but I've been taking it a bit easy on my left arm after breaking the damn thing wrecking my Jeep a few months back. Shit reminds me of my last tour in Iraq, I was under an NCO who loved to do pushups.. could never get the guy to do anything else and well myself and another soldier were to the point of doing a grand in the 12 hour shifts we worked. After the first few hundred it hurt but evetually just got used to it. But definetly a challenge I will be more than grateful to pursue and knock someones record down.

Between Feb 8, 1968 and June 12, 2009 I did at least 1000 pushups. Now if it were'nt for that pesky time lmit rule, I could be a member of the club too.

BTW I remember watching the Tokyo Olympics way back when. On the final day of the judo competition, gold medal day, several judo athletes from around the world put on a physical fitness exhibition. Doug Rogers, the Canadian heavyweight contender who ended up with a silver medal, did 1500 pushups nonstop. It was his normal warmup on match day.

I saw this a couple days and had to do it.

My Time Frame: 15:44-19:06, Elevation 7.4K ft.

1000 pushups in 3:22.

In full uniform while working. (not battle rattle) Even at the MKT DFAC I was dropping.

My strategy was 20 pushups every 5 min. For 4 hours. With an added 40pushups in between. That plan failed because I started to fall behind on time, so I started doing sets of 5 pushups Non stop. I drank about 12 bottles of water, 8 fruit cups, ate a whole meal at the MKT (dropped twice durring it), one thing of protein mix, 1 gatorade, an apple and beef jerky. People were placing bets on when I would quit. Fuck that shit, it only egged me on. I was dropping durring all of that. I finished up the last 45min with Metallica - Black Album and finished strong. My fucking left elbow hurts like a bitch tho.

Anyways this is a good workout, we started a pushup hall of fame board now. Thanks for the idea. I will probably be sore as shit tommorow.

I just joined the club, and I must say it was much more difficult than I ever imagined. I started at 2100 and finished at 0045. It definitely didn't help that I hit triceps hard yesterday!
I went out hard doing 105 in the first 2 minutes (BIG mistake). I completed 415 in the first 56 minutes, then took a 37 minute break and I definitely needed it. I was at 574 2 hours into it and already hurting. At the three hour mark I was at 801 and honestly not sure if I would finish. I took a little rest then started busting out 25 every 5 minutes and and by 0040 I only had 51 to go. I decided to do three sets of 17 with about two minutes rest in between. Finished up with 1000 in 3:45. The last 17 felt harder than the first 105 I did in 2 minutes.
Definitely harder than it sounds and definitely something I will try to improve on. I will be smarter about it next time and go for 1100!

weighted 1000 pushups

Post by phrozenone »

cant believe Ive never seen this topic..but yea..COUNT ME IN! haha., I first started doing 1,000 pushups in sets of 25-50, then i moved on to 1,000 in under an hour, than 1,000 with weights on my back, and for my recent birthday I did 2,300 pushups. It took me a good 4 hours and I dont soon wannna do it again, it truly sucked. but yea 1,000 pushup club is great to push yourself to new limits, DO IT!
