5th rangers in vn?

Post by Headoutdaplane »

Since I have no real life I play absolute poker, a guy comes in to the game with RangerDoc as a screen name, I say "Battalion?" he replies 5th. I say "when" he says "long time ago 'nam. 101st and then rangers call sign 'malpractice'"

I thought the VN era rangers were A, B, etc

Any thoughts?

INVITE HIM HERE!

But to answer your question, 5th Special Forces was the only 5th unit in Vietnam.....there was NO 5th Rangers!

Oh, and A Co and B Co Rangers weren't in Vietnam, either.

Just had a thought (fuck you, I think every once in a while), it is possible that he was with the BDQ (RVN Ranger advisors), Jim might know if they had a 5th.

There was a 5th Vietnamese Ranger Group, it was located in Saigon. Battalions were 33d and 35th. Of course, 5th SFG would be more likely.
