Sitrep

Post by Ace18 »

Hello Rangers. I just finished my 7 week of osut. It really is way to easy. In order to see results you have to do all the work yourself. My platoon is lackin the discipline we should of had the first three weeks and it's frustrating but there's nothing I can do about it. I was made squad leader and Tex was my team leader for a while. 3 of us from the site are on the same platoon. It's cool. Right now a lot of rumors are flying around. A lot of opt40s are dropping contracts. Because they believe the regiment is full and they'll only take the top 5-10%. I figure even if it is true I'll just be in that top of the class. We have 2 weeks till our mid cycle pass. I'll post more then. Right now I'm back to more night time pt and bay maintence.

You got an Option 40 and you I'll hunt you down if you quit. The only rumor you need to pay attention to is the one that says you're not going to quit.

NO, it is true Ranger Regiment is full.

Because a bunch of Privates with no patches and no experience know exactly what they are talking about.

If you know a guy who drops Option40, don't say anything to him, don't tell him to keep it. We don't want them.

On mid cycle pass. I guess I am now considered a soldier. Next 3 weeks should be rough. Keeping my eyes on my goal. Got my PT up to a 272 and I'll be maxing it in 2 weeks. I'll be back on post tomorrow, so no more internet access. I'm just keeping my head down and getting done what needs to get done. One Drill Sergeant knows my name but it is for positive things so I don't think I'm doing too bad. 3 more weeks of real training then 2 of dxing ta-50 and dnc so we're almost there. I'll post again in a few weeks when I'm actually an Infantryman. Thanks for all the advice and support Rangers.

This is one of the reasons I enjoy the site -- watching young men like these earn their place in the Ranger family.

One thing the army excells at is re-arranging your sense of the space-time continuim.

The quitters referenced early in this thread are just looking for reasons to quit. If it wasn't this BS rumor about the Regiment being "all full up", they'd seize upon something else.
Plus, if a guy doesn't think he has a shot at the top 5-10%, he is right to quit because Rangers DEFINE the top percentiles!

Finished FTX. Working on getting things ready for cif turn in. KyPlinker was made a squad leader. He's doing a good job. Another soldier was able to earn a Ranger contract, he's my squad leader and he's a good guy. He should be able to make it. Me, ky, Tex and the new contract guy are all working hard and hopefully we'll be able to stick together in Airborne hold. In other news I'm my company's Honor Grad. Also, we just finished Honor Hill and got out blood rifles. 2 weeks left and it's on to the next step to Regiment. I'll provide another SitRep when I get a chance.
