Introduction - Cie

Post by Armymom310 »

Good morning. I believe and hope I am posting in the correct area, if not please forgive my mistake.

My name is Carole and I am a beyond proud mom! My son graduated Airborne last Friday and is currently in pre-RASP. He is very much looking forward to being classed up and starting the training.

I am just here to read and get as much information as possible to help understand what he is facing and to school myself on what he will be going through. I am currently reading Sua Sponte, which is giving me a ton of information, maybe too much 😊.

Thank you for your service to all who have and are now serving.

<t>Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Ranger Jim, my son is actually already a member of the group. That is how I found out about it and joined myself. I know he read and got a ton of information from you and the other Rangers before he made his decision and after.

Ranger Lunch, no worries on the typo, most people don't add the "e" but sit-ups are always good!

There was a potential for my son to class up this Friday but it looks like he will wait for the next class in November. We are both happy about this. He has only been in Pre-RASP for a week and really wanted the extra weeks to get his body more prepared so as to help his success. He found PT during OUST to not be challenging enough to prepare him for RASP, and even less so during Airborne. He was hoping for a few weeks to push himself to get better. He is very dedicated to becoming a Ranger and wants to do all he can to be successful. He actually did a ruck march with a buddy on Friday to help keep training. I am pretty darn proud of his commitment.

I am happy about the wait as it will guarantee he will get HBL. I have been told it is extra challenging for the candidates to take that break between phases but I think he will do ok.</t>
