New Multicam uniforms?

Post by johntriplecrown1 »

Rangers,
I recently heard that ther was a new type of camo that is being issued standard to all Army personel in Afghanistan, i believe its called multicam. Can anyone verify this. if it is being issued then why did the government just spend millions (if not billions) on getting everyone ACUs in the past years? Will the multicam become standard issue for all Army Personel everywhere?

Silverback's link will answer most of your question, but I will field this part.

Because they can, and you can't do shit about it. Now be a good little doobie and pay your taxes.

Actually you will see that historically the military changes it's uniforms frequently. A lot of it is to do with the fact that situations change, and the military needs to adapt to these changes.

I guess the new situation means we have to be able to blend into something other than a gravel parking lot.

That ain't funny.......do you have any idea how many Soldiers I have almost run over because of their wearing the ACUs in parking lots.........?

I still maintain that OG107s are the best uniform EVER! Not that I got to ever wear them in an official capacity. No matter wear you were, if you rolled around on the ground for a second you blended right in.

X2 on the OG107's...

I got to wear 'em starched with an earned not issued black beret. You could always spot Rangers anywhere on post....

x 3 on the OG107's !!! The looked sharp when cleaned & starched and other soldiers moved the fuck out of your way when walking around on post.

And Oto-Man is right, out in the field, when they were wet from rain or sweat, they blended right in.

I can only speak of up until I left last summer, but it was cryes while I was there. And they were the most comfortable uniform I have ever worn, and probably ever will wear. I would give my left nut to wear those to work every day again. I know the crye's that the conventional army was starting to get in afghanistan were the same as ACU's, just the multicam pattern, and I sure as hell hope that batt. didn't switch to those.
