Hello all and thanks for welcoming me to the site. I am currently at Fort Bragg reclassing from 91B to 38 B. I have been inspired to attend Ranger School after my last Battalion CSM graduated after 20 plus years on active duty and at 40 years old, so with that there is no reason I can't do it at 34. I will finish my the CA course in Feb. I hope to have a school date by end of summer or fall. Anything you guys could recommend will be greatly appreciated.

Ranger Jim, Thanks for pointing me in the right direction as of where to go to answer my questions. I have been in the Army for 13 years, with 6 of those here at Ft. Bragg, other assignments include Korea, Ft. Sill, and Hawaii. I have always wanted to attend Ranger School but as a mechanic I was told I could not go unless I was in a Ranger Battalion or just told NO that my unit could not send me. Now being a SSG and haveing been in for a while I know different. I am all about professional and self development and I know Ranger School will help me excel in these areas. As a leader I am always looking for ways to better prepare myself to lead young soldiers.

As a 38B you very well may end up attached to Ranger strike force overseas, must be a very exciting career move for you! Welcome to the site, and thanks for volunteering to do a job I would never have the patience to do!

Thanks Ranger goon. This very exciting for me, when I go home I actually fell like I have accomplished something instead of working in the motor pool.

Nothing wrong with working in the motor pool. The skills you picked up there will help you in anything you do. Civil Affairs has got to have reliable transportation, as does any MOS. Please let us know how your training is going. And how you are progressing on getting a RS slot. Never, never quit!
