CMP experience?

Post by Headoutdaplane »

I am seriously considering buying a Garand from the cmp, I was wondering if anyone has bought one through this program. If so what was your experience?

Played with a few at the local range, haven't bought one though. Condition can vary greatly. If you are looking for a shooter you should be fine. If you are looking for an heirloom safe queen, not so much. I have also heard you will have better luck going to one of the brick & mortar stores rather than online.

I bought both an M1 and a M1903 from CMP. Both are excellent. To get a better one you may want to choose a higher quality, which will cost a bit more. Last year I picked up a handful of M1 bayonets.

The resale of these things are great. I bought my M1 for $150... but it was awhile ago.
