Re: Personal defense
Dog don't do shit if you don't train it. Now that I had to replace my german shepherd bitch with a new german shepherd, I can't trust him to do anything but bark for the next couple years, if I even trust him for home defense after that.

Re: After 100 Years, Are The Boy Scouts Still Relevant?
If the most local troop sucks, look at others in the area. When I was a kid I was a boy scout... only made it to 1st class but I had a blast doing what I did and going where I went with it. Re: Recommendation on long range FRS/GMRS radio
May be necroposting but if you want long range comms you have 2 choices
ham radio or a monthly bill with iridium
I went the ham radio route, currently got 4 radios. Only takes a little bit of time to study for the test and it's free... and the radios do ALOT more than anything you're used to.

Custom plates... http://www.skynet-mk2.com/photos/cam/plate.JPG If you get 250 people to sign off on wanting a custom military plate, they will make...

Re: RIP Instructors are weeding em' out fast!!!
I think that this is a fitting place to put a little tale of tales, considering the "RIP Hold" commentary... but, I cannot vouch for the same opportunities arising in hold today, since I went through in '98... My pre-enlistment mentors recommended that it'd be intelligent for me to volunte...

What I can tell you is that everyone here loves the issued peltors that have them. I know I wouldn't mind a set, but I'm not deploying after all. I can give you some tips on manufacturing your own antenna that will function better than the stock issued ones though. Go buy 10 feet of RG-58 cable from...

Figure I'll let ya'll see the new uniforms stuff a bit more closely.
It's honestly not that bad of a uniform. Boots are decent, and all in all I like them.
