Re: Introduction - Matthew

Rangers, I've been meaning to update you all on my ship date. I've received confirmation from my recruiters that my ship date is July 21st and not the 31st. Unfortunately due to some issues with them changing the bonus on my paperwork I haven't been able to view an updated version of my contract thi...

Re: Introduction - Matthew

Rangers,

I received word from my recruiter today that my ship date has been moved from 20200331 to 20200731. Not ideal at all, but it gives me more time to prepare. I'm sure that when my ship date arrives I will be crushing my current numbers.

Re: Introduction - Matthew

Rangers, Just a quick update with my most recent APFT results. Total score: 289 Push-ups: 76 Sit-ups: 82 2MR: 13:46 This was my first run after taking two weeks off to let my shin-splints heal. As well as my first time running on a track in a few months. I'm disappointed in my run time, though I kno...

Re: Introduction - Matthew

Rangers, I'm excited to say that my waivers were cleared over the weekend and I returned to MEPS on Tuesday and arrived back today. I was successful in getting an 11X contract and officially swore in and enlisted today. My ship date is 20200331. Unfortunately, due to the waivers I am medically unfit...

Re: Introduction - Matthew

Rangers, I've completed my consultation at MEPS. It was determined that I will require a waiver for esotropia in my right eye, as well as a waiver for the implant on my collar bone. My recruiter tried to get the waivers pushed overnight so that I could enlist on the 6th, however they were unsuccessf...

Re: Introduction - Matthew

Rangers, Just a quick update. MEPS went well, however I will need to go to a consultation for one of my eyes (same as my brother had). There's a good chance that the consultation will be next week but at the moment I don't have any definite date. I'm unsure how this will effect the ship date on the ...

Re: Introduction - Matthew

Rangers, Officially, tomorrow I will be going to MEPS. Currently I have reserved an 11X contract. I was really hoping for an Opt. 40 but is seems that my past injury has disqualified me from signing with one. I will however still be allowed to volunteer for RASP in OSUT which I plan to do. If all go...

Re: Introduction - Matthew

Rangers,

I received word yesterday from my recruiter that my MEPS date has been pushed back to January 14-15. Not what I was looking to hear, but I'm still motivated and focused on that 25 meter target. I will keep you posted on any future updates.

Re: Going into pre-RASP: Letter for the mentees

Roger Ranger jth456,

Thank you for this post. Giving us mentees information that sets us up on the right path both in the present and the future is very useful and is information that I will keep in my back pocket.

Re: Introduction - Matthew

Rangers, It's certainly been awhile since my last update. I'm sure you all have seen that my brother C0LDY has secured an 11X contract and will be volunteering for RASP in OSUT. My process to say the least has been taking longer. In October of 2016 I fractured my clavicle which required me to have a...
