It will set you apart from the vast majority of people in this world. Probably all people who serve experience some level of this, but when you get out and have experienced RS or a Ranger/spec ops unit, the rest of the world feels like they are in slow motion. Some people will not understand your mo...

I had a chute lose a tuck on the jump into FL, or was it the reserve, I can't recall, but a corner was showing out of one of the folds and I said soemthing to the JM, who sat me down. Later on the ground I got asked how many jumps I had, which at that time had been ABN about a year and probably had ...

Welcome. Your unit gave us so much of what us LRS guys became later. Even if missions were different, you guys wrote the books we trained out of. RLTW

Another question that now comes to mind is where are they reassigning these guys that are being deactivated? Are they going directly to the new Cav units or are they being just sent any damn where that'll take them?

That was one of the saddest things I've seen in a long damn time, going to the RSLC homepage and seeing the word's DISBANDED under my units name. FUCK!

Thanks for the assist!

Thanks Ranger Horned Toad. There should be a post in the proper spot now. If not, just send me for refit/resupply and I'll try again. Also, thanks for the optics maintenance URL.

Intro for Ranger from 25th LRSD

What a great web site! I was stationed at 25th ID summer 1993 as 11B, Schofield Barracks and made LRSD (125MI) tryout in late 1993. Attended Airborne Course in 1994, Ranger School Class 7-95 (winter/spring) and LRSLC fall 1995. Last position was Senior Scout for Team 4. Left active duty 1996, honora...

Intro Posting and FAQ

It was suggested that I post an intro. My optics are clearly a little dirty, since I can't locate the topic in the FAQ. Glad to do it right, can someone point me in the right direction?

LRSLC (at least it was then)

I attended LRSLC (looks like the name has changed) in 1995. One thing I'm sure hasn't changed is that the vehicle ID section is a bitch. If they are still doing that as part of the course, look at it hard. It got several of our guys knocked out of the course for failing it. Oh, and run, I mean a lot.
