Wow, thanks Rangers (oilpatch stands there like the kid who caught Mean Joe's jersey in that commercial) and other board members! Your Go's, attaboys, and well-wishing helped me through a tough couple of days of uncertainty. We were allowed into Metairie (Jefferson Parish) today to check on our stuf...

(Very Long report from an evaccuee) I've been reading, but I haven't had time to write until now. I evacc'd N.O. on sunday 8/31 at noon to Jackson MS and now I'm in Baton Rouge, LA (80 mi from N.O.). I have my parents (70+) with me at my uncle's house. My GF went to Nashville to stay with her daught...

Exactly Ranger Silverback. I can distinctly remember "Shoot on sight" orders by the Governors and mayors after H. Betsy and Camille. Now, looters are being advised that they will be "dealt with severely". I guess that means possibly even arrested. NG and Reserve MP Batts are in u...

We evacc'd N.O. to Jaxn MS, which is now w/out power in many areas due to follow-on effects of Katrina. Helicopter video shows that most houses in the New Orleans metro area are flooded; it was rare to actually see green grass on lawns due to floodwaters. Some lowlying sections of town have 8-10' of...

Ranger Will, I agree with Lawdog, a CMP M-1 Garand is a tough deal to beat. But it does take you over $200. If you really want to stay under $200, you might want to look at some Enfield SMLEs. They're plentiful enough that you can still get a reasonable price, particularly with a C&R license. .3...

Ranger Chiron, I have a question; What is the meaning of the inverted "V" symbol that appears on Spartan shields?
