Re: Its been years

Thank you for posting the pictures Ranger Earthpig, but I can't see them, probably because I'm not a "validated Ranger member of ArmyRanger.com" as it says on the gallery page.

Re: Its been years

Thank you for your service but why the fuck are you here? Seeking closure? Well, I recently just found out that what of my friends that I went to Basic and RIP with (he ended up in 3rd Bat, I believe) died in Afghanistan back in '05. It kind of shocked me that he'd been gone that long and I hadn't ...

Re: Its been years

Well, it wasn't the act of puking exactly, it was the fact that I stopped running to do it hehe. It was a big class and I think they were trying to trim it down. For a while I beat myself up about it, but looking back I wouldn't change it for the world. The friends I made and fought with were some o...

Its been years

I used to post on this site before I joined in the Army back in '04 or whenever that was. I had an option 40 and all of that and everyone on this site was a huge help. Anyway, long story short, I threw up during the RIP PT test and they booted my ass (haha excuses, I know), and I ended up with 1/501...

Off like a prom dress

I'm heading off to MEPS in a week to ship out. I know this is a little premature, but I'm not going to be online much for the next few days. Its been 8 months as a DEP since I first joined this site, and I promise I won't let it all be in waste. Thank you to the Rangers for all the valuable informat...

I knew two kids from my school that were over 6'2" and they both screwed up their ankles in airborne school. I don't know if their height had anything do to with it, but I would think a short, more compact body would be better for that kind of stuff.

Check out Darby's Rangers and Rudder's Rangers, both good WW2 historical accounts. And then of course their's Northwest Passage by Kenneth Roberts (historical fiction, french and indian war) which I'd imagine is what popularized the word "ranger" back in the 30's (I think thats when it cam...

It doesn't really matter what you tell your recruiter because he has nothing to do with what you actually sign up for. In my experience, he'll tell you whatever you want to hear. When you go to MEPS and actually sign up, that's when you're going to need to have your shit together.

Rucking, like most things, is a mind game. Me, I actually like rucking. Gives ya plenty of time to think about shit. I'm one of those natural ruckers/non-runners though. That sounds more like me Ranger BadMuther. I've never all out rucked before, but I love to hike and I know what you mean about ti...

It had been hovering around 10 below, up until recently, which would be fine on its own, but I'm on the coast and the wind is what screws you up. Negative 5 with 30 mph winds is not a good time. But like I said, the weather isn't a factor anymore, just my screw up in not thinking about rucking. Rbar...

Dookiestick, if that's all true, you sound like a PT stud. What's up with the excuses about not being able to ruck? Put your fucking ruck on and walk through the snow. Uphill, if you are a stud. I guarantee a hell of a workout. Good thing is, your workout will be fairly short too! Ranger Badmuther,...

I'm currently maxing the APFT on everything except pushups (fucked up my elbow and still making up for it, if any of you guys remember me bitching about that). But I'm doing like 65, which is close to a 100. I run a few miles every day, taking a day off every 2 or 3 days and I do about 50 pullups on...

Where are you from anyway, rbarrows? All this lobster talk is making me think you're from somewhere around here (maine)... Of course if you aren't, then you have no idea of what a real lobster is
