Re: SITREP - Kyle

Rangers, I hope all of you are doing well. We're on pass here for the weekend, starting week 5 tomorrow. Everything has been going great so far. Myself, Alex, Dylan and Nico are all still going strong. I was fortunate enough to pass the RFT which was a huge releif. Week 4 was a great time, as so man...

Re: SITREP - Kyle

Rangers, Thank you for the responses. Ranger Dis, I definitely should have proofread that last post a little closer, haha. I was (un)lucky enough to have been chosen for CQ duty yesterday. I missed out on some pretty good PT this morning, which I was dissapointed about. They got to do a 3 mile boot ...

Re: SITREP - Kyle

Rangers, First off, apologies for such a late response. I'm in Pre-RASP right now, I arrived this past Tuesday. It's surreal standing on the rocks I've read so much about on here. We did our first ruck this morning which was fast, but not as bad as I was expecting. We went around the airfield and up...

SITREP - Kyle

Rangers, I’m at MEPS right now waiting to head to the airport to fly out to Atlanta. I should arrive there at around 2230 tonight. I know the Rangers on here don’t like to be thanked, so I’ll say that the info on this site is invaluable for someone in my position. I know I haven’t been super active ...

Re: Introduction - Kyle

Ranger Disinfertention, your feedback is much appreciated. This week started off with a PFT on Monday followed by a 5 mile run today. I woke up early Monday morning to make sure I could run at the high school track before school was in session. APFT (20180514): Push Ups: 76 Sit ups: 75 2 mile: 11:12...

Re: Introduction - Kyle

Went for a five mile run yesterday. Managed to do it a bit faster than last time.

5 mile run:
34:26

Looking forward to doing a few more before I leave to see if I can keep my times under 35:00.

Re: Introduction - Kyle

Roger, Ranger Dreadnought. Agreed. Conducted a self-assessed APFT + Chin ups today. Not very satisfied with the results. I was going to do the run at my high school track, but there was a soccer game going on. Did my usual trail route instead: Push ups: 74 Sit ups: 72 2 mile: 11:59 Chin ups: 12 Real...

Re: Introduction - Kyle

Roger, Ranger Dreadnought. I do my five mile runs on a trail loop near my house that has a good amount of hills on it. The two-miler in my initial post was done on a flat track, and the distance was a little short of two miles. When I do two mile runs on the trails near me it slows me down to around...

Re: Introduction - Kyle

Roger, Ranger Disinfertention. I ran 6x400's on Monday, ankle felt good and I did not have any pain Tuesday. I'll be sure not to push it if I feel any pain in the near future. Really strange that it came on so randomly, but I'm glad it's (hopefully) nothing serious.

Re: Introduction - Kyle

Roger, Ranger Disinfertention. Signature has been added. I'm not sure where the ankle pain came from. I didn't have any pain on Thursday and my workout that day consisted of swimming, and push-up/sit-up training, so I didn't do anything that would have strained it. I went to a local running store th...

Re: Introduction - Kyle

Well, I did not complete my 5 mile run. I started to get a sharp pain on the inside of my left ankle less than 1/4 mile into my run. I walked home, stretched a bit, jogged around and it actually felt better as I got warmed up again. I really wanted to get the 5 mile in so I went for it a second time...

Re: Introduction - Kyle

Drock, that's great to hear! I guess we're sure to cross paths at some point!

As a general update, I'll be conducting a 5-mile run tomorrow afternoon. The last 5-mile I recorded was a 37:17, which I know I can beat tomorrow. I'll post again as soon as that is completed.

Re: Introduction - Kyle

Roger Ranger Disinfertention, thanks for the clarification. I'll go for the 5 mile run on Friday and will plan on an APFT + chin-ups the following week to make sure I leave enough time in between them to see any notable progress. This morning, I went for a 4 mile ruck with 45 lbs plus a 10 lb dumbbe...

Re: Introduction - Kyle

Roger Ranger CharlieRanger1FFV and Ranger Disinfertention. Ranger Disinfertention, I have replied to your PM. Thank you for the info in regards to the Ranger physical standards. The RASP prep program I'm following calls for a 3 mile run to be done next Friday. Instead of the 3 mile, I am planning on...

Introduction - Kyle

Hi, my name is Kyle. I am a 20 year old college student living in Denver, CO. I have been lucky enough to have obtained an 11X contract with an Option 40 and am in the Delayed Entry Program. I am currently wrapping up the second semester of my second year of college, and I'll be shipping to basic tr...
