Re: Introduction
Well I am NOT a Ranger by no means so I going to refrain from giving any advice here... You should have stopped here. You're not qualified to tell the guy just how to get what he wants. Quit posting and start reading. Scott, as for you, keep up the good work. Finish up your schooling, and if you fe...

Re: Intro - Jeremy
Your civilian jumps won't help you, but I will. If you really want to serve in the 75th Ranger Regiment, renegotiate your contract. Have the recruiter include the Option 40 to your 13F MOS. This will put you in a pipeline of OSUT, BAC, RASP. That's basically Basic, AIT, Airborne, and Ranger whatever...

Re: Introduction - James
James, Maybe I missed something when I read through your postings, but I didn't pick up on you saying anything about being the the Army Reserve as well as ROTC. If that is the route you wish to pursue but can't, I would suggest looking into the National Guard. I've seen many times first hand when gu...

Re: How can I become an army ranger
1Search your heart and your psyche. Rangers are warriors. Rangers are trained to face highly dangerous and stressful combat actions. Ranger training will require the utmost in courage, physical stamina and self-discipline. 2Develop your body - run for endurance, train with weights, become a profici...

Welcome. I sometimes wish I would have pursued ROTC out of High School. Forget what everyone has told you about college being tough; you'll find in life there is always someone trying to talk you out of something they never had the balls to do themselves.

Unless you can get a different opinion that doesn't say that last phrase, I think all you can do at this point is send it up and hope for the best. Personally, I would try to get a new opinion minus the last part.

That was the class right after mine. We didn't do any hand to hand, and there wasn't any op-for dressed in padded gear for beating up either. I guess we were the last easy class.

Re: Can 89D enlist with option 40 also?
Alright Dude, I'm going to step out on a limb here and give you some advice. Take a little self-initiative and find out what MOS's the 75th takes. Peruse those MOS's. If you would rather be EOD at the end of the day, then be EOD. If you want to serve in the 75th, then serve in the 75th. It's your ca...

One of my Ranger Buddies who get recycled in Florida said he had the camera crew following them around. He graduated in say, May or so. I suppose the rest will be new(er) footage as well. The previews looked cool.

Re: Introduction John
Well, welcome to the site. You're in High School; you should be worried about football, girls, cars, and shit. If you want to kill bad guys and punch babies in the face, then do it. If you want to defuse bombs, then do it. If you want to be part of SF, then do it. Just quit rambling, read up what yo...

Re: Darby 8 Hour Pass Questions
As of April, you get picked up right outside camp for the pass. No students are allowed to drive. So don't get caught. We had an 8 hour pass; I was surprised how fast it flew by. I spent my time making a care package for my Ranger buddy who got recycled. And eating like 50 Snickers bars. Mmmmm.

Welcome dude. If you believe that NOTHING is impossible for you and pair that up with preparation AND always giving it 100% and then some, I think you'll find yourself exactly where you want to be. OPT 40 or not, only you can get yourself there. I used to be a leg. Now go do pushups.

If you don't have his info, just send it to the current phase he is in. It might get slowed down a bit, but it will catch up. Depending on where he is in a phase and how fast the Post Office is working, send the cookies. He'll like them. At the end of each phase, he should be able to call you, if he...
