Can I bring anything not on the RASP packinglist?
I'm trying to figure out where to keep my personal bag and everything I've had and gathered since OSUT. I want to bring the bare minimum with me. I bought everything on the packing list and don't own anything in the prohibited items list. I figure it would be a good idea to bring somethings not on t...

Re: SITREP: JamesGarafalo
Thank you Ranger Cams for the advice. I learned already you are spot on. Just a quick update on my progress: Just graduated Airborne school yesterday and met with the RASP liaison afterword. There were already people ready to drop, I couldn't believe it (this is after they were offered the ability d...

SITREP: JamesGarafalo
Very recently finished OSUT and graduated as a Private First Class 11b. I'm currently in my 2nd week of Airborne school and it feels like a vacation. I want to say a few things from the extremely limited knowledge I have so far. I've found that I can do things I never knew I could do. As long as I d...

Non GPS/ Internet capable Wristwatch for RASP
I bought a new watch with a GPS compass that I'm going to return today because I just got my packing list for RASP. Does anyone have information on if watches with a non-GPS compass are condoned, frowned upon, preferred, etc. Any specific model I should look into getting or not getting?

Re: Questions about RASP to 75th Ranger Regiment
Ranger JD, thank you for the advice. It kind of settled me a little. I was unsure whether or not I should post my ship date, but I'm leaving on the 17th of this month. Luckily I was able to find someone, through this website, leaving the day before me so we may come across one another. I will update...

Re: Questions about RASP to 75th Ranger Regiment
I appreciate the response and the advice. It's a different mindset being on the same brain wave as Rangers. I understand that as a civilian, especially an American citizen, I have a sense of entitlement and lack of respect. I respect every word I've been given. I've tried to humble myself, but I sha...

Re: Questions about RASP to 75th Ranger Regiment
Thank you for the response Kirk. I knew my initial questions may have been shallow while writing them. It was more of an effort to engage in conversation with someone such as yourself. It's a daunting task before me, but as you have taught, one step at a time. I will learn everything I can today in ...
