Re: Introduction - Calvin
I have watched the RASP video, Ranger Jim. In fact, I've even seen it before you posted it but I watched it again because I just can't get enough of anything military related, let alone Ranger related things.

Re: The Workout Thread
Bronco, I'm in no position to tell you what to do but I recommend using either the "Push Up Improvement" or the "APFT Improvement" threads created by Ranger Silverback. I've been using the "APFT Imrovement" thread for a couple weeks and it is proving to be quite effective.

Re: Penicillin
Roger Ranger Jim. I searched penicillin in the search bar and found 48 instances penicillin was used.
PerryB, thanks for the information. It's always good to have a current recruiter on the site to give up to date recruiting info.

Penicillin
Hi Rangers, I'm still in my recruiting process trying to get my option 40. I just had a random thought though that I haven't considered. My grandma died from penicillin(due to an unknown allergic reaction) and my mom is allergic. I haven't ever been tested for it so I'm not sure if I am allergic as ...

Re: Inquiry about recruiting process
PerryB, I don't graduate high school until May 23rd so I won't be able to have a ship date before then.

Re: Inquiry about recruiting process
Thanks for the extra info, PerryB. To my knowledge, he has not yet contacted the ROC but I will e-mail him about that right now. In response to your previous post, how should I go about convincing my recruiter that I should take the ASVAB and physical?

Re: Inquiry about recruiting process
Thank you for the suggestion PerryB, but this is kind of what I'm wondering. Can I schedule a trip to MEPS for my ASVAB and physical personally or does it have to be set up through my recruiter. If it has to be set up through my recruiter, I don't know if I can because my recruiting office doesn't ...

Inquiry about recruiting process
Hi Rangers.
So when I first met with my recruiter, I told him I wanted to be a Ranger. I took a pre-ASVAB(got an 86) then he gave me a packet to fill out. I did that and when I came back to talk to him, he said we were going to do some paperwork. Before we started filling stuff out, the second in ...

Re: The Workout Thread
My APFT
PU - 73
SU - 60
PULL - 8
RUN - 14:36
Total: 249/300
Most of my workouts have mainly consisted of maxing out diamond, shoulder grip, and wide grip pushups, for 2 sets, every other day. For situps I would max out 2 sets(One slow and controlled. One pumping them out.). Honestly I haven't ...

Re: Introduction - Calvin
OK Rangers, I've taken my mock PT test.
PUSH - 73
SU - 60
PULL - 8
Run - 14:36
I have one question. When I do situps, sometimes I will gag over and over again. Is this just because I need to strengthen my core? Also, I started the APFT Improvement program posted by Ranger Silverback yesterday.

Re: Introduction - Calvin
Thank you for the welcome, Ranger Charlie.
Roger that, Ranger Lefty. This 2-mile run should feel like nothing compared to what I will encounter in the future.
Also, I talked to my recruiter today and they said they wouldn't go forward with any paper work until an 11x option 40 opens up. Hopefully ...

Re: Introduction - Calvin
Thank you all for the responses.
Perry, I will be sure to ask my recruiter about an option 40 on that date.
Ranger Jim, I'll be sure to conduct that self-assessment. I'll probably end up doing it on Saturday. It's going to be a tough 2 miles though because I have just recently started running and ...
