Chris,
I am going to use you as a teaching point. First you can still keep your head up you did not quit like so many others. You failed at the 5 mile but you did not give up. There is a difference. You can work to gain a second chance at your new unit. Be the best you can, keep your head low and ...

Re: One of our mentees is in OSUT
So, I figured I would post a brief SITREP with a couple of things for the hopefuls along the way:
So far, everything is going very well. My squad and team leaders seem to like me, and I am fitting in well with the guys, as well as a private in Regiment can, that is, haha. Training is very fast ...

Re: SITREP Bigglestheman
A good way I improved on my pushups was to take the ~60% mark of your goal, which should be the max, and turn it into that # x 4 sets. Essentially, it turned into 4 sets of 50 push-ups, to Ranger standard, with a 2 minute break in between sets. If you actually do them to standard and keep the 2min ...

Graduated RASP
Hello Rangers,
Just posting a brief SITREP to say that I graduated RASP 1 today with assignment to 1st batt. I cannot be any more excited to begin training and move forward with my career.
I want to especially thank Ranger Jim and Ranger GoldCoast for all they have done in preparing me up to ...

Re: One of our mentees is in OSUT
Rangers,
I am currently in pre-RASP with cbc1. He and I are pretty competitive and going into this with great confidence.
Two people quit the first day. I mean, really? Damn, paperwork must have been taxing. Seeing people quit just fuels my motivation even more. Its the first truly challenging ...

Yes this was very recent, I graduated OSUT March 8th and am in Airborne now. I leave for pre-RASP in 2 weeks.

Re: Introduction-Jim
Hey Jim,
While most companies, as in, the vast majority of them at Sand Hill, give out option 40s....my company made it a point to not give out any. They only gave out 3 18x contracts. They straight up didn't bother to take them to the liaison to volunteer, even after the brief we got from the ...

Re: One of our mentees is in OSUT
Rangers,
Well, the guys who were selected, the "program" we were starting, wasn't approved by some Sergeant Major. So, the early EIB is a no-go now. We had ourselves all fluffed up for nothing. It's ok, however, I will have my due chance. Awaiting airborne school for now. Continuing to improve my ...

Re: One of our mentees is in OSUT
Rangers,
So, I turned blue today. My airborne date was pushed back 2 weeks and in the mean time, the cadre have selected about 6 guys to train up for the upcoming EIB. They are not 100% sure if we can get in, but I will find out for sure tomorrow whether or not I will have to opportunity. It's ...

Re: Introduction - Mike
Rangers,
I suppose it is about time for a proper SITREP. It's been a while since I have posted one, however it is not reflective of my prep thus far. I have been training very hard, however, I am making sure that I stay healthy and ready for The Show. My unofficial, most recent APFT is 95 PU, 97 SU ...

Re: Introduction - Mike
Rangers,
I believe a SITREP is in order:
I have recently conducted an APFT. The pushup and sit-up judge was an active duty Marine.
2mi- 12:55
PU: 96
SU: 94
I have had a faster run time. My PR is 12:32, but, that doesn't matter. The PU's and SU's seem to be at a plateau that I am currently working ...
