Re: Introduction - Paul

Ranger Steadfast,

Very sorry to overstep my boundaries. I was not intending on giving him soldiering advice, only advice on the basic questions one might have starting out that I have asked plenty of already. It will not happen again.

Re: Introduction - Paul

Welcome in, Paul. I am also an aspiring 68W Option 40 prospect. I've been doing a lot of asking around and reading up on the job and what it entails. If you have any questions for me, feel free to send me a message. Also, I see by your username that you are from Pennsylvania. I'm from Media (near Ph...

Re: Introducing Myself

Ranger ZoneIV, I just got back from the recruiting station for the weekly workout. We did PT testing today. Instead of doing the 2min/2min/2mile we did 1min/1min/1mile. I recorded 72 pushups, 42 situps, and a 6 minute 11 second mile. I'll have to work on the situps, I guess I'm just not used to doin...

Exertion Headaches

Hey everyone, Sometimes when I work out I get these exertion headaches. I'll be maxing out pushups and all of the sudden I'll get a strong pounding pain on the left side of my head. This is the second time it has happened. It lasted a few days before about 3 months ago. The doctor told me it was wit...

Re: Introducing Myself

Ranger ZoneIV, I timed myself on pushups and did 82. I didn't try for situps, but I do core a lot so I think I'll be fine there. I timed myself on a 4 mile run at 29 minutes. Hopefully I can get 14:00 for a 2 mile. I don't mean to say it was easy; I still pushed myself hard and got a good workout. W...

Re: Introducing Myself

Ranger goon175, I'm glad to see there are some 68W Option 40 contracts floating around out there. Now, how often are jobs updated? Is that a monthly thing? And I'm assuming that they aren't always the same thing but are based on the needs of the Army at the present time. Also, I went to my recruiter...

Re: Introducing Myself

Cayo, Thank you for your response. Once I get to that stage, I am sure that I will be able to bug the living hell out of whoever is in charge so I can get into RASP. Currently, my next step is the ASVABs. I am studying for them now and will hopefully take them by the end of the month. Once that is f...

Re: Introducing Myself

FSHerbert, First off, congratulations! I'm glad to see that we share the same goal and that you are actually on your way to accomplish it. I'll have to remember your name if I end up going through with this. Your answer has helped, thank you. I'm still unsure about how hard it'd be to get into RASP ...

Re: Introducing Myself

Rangers, So I've done some reading into 68W and I still have a question or two. I saw Ranger RngrDoc75's post that you must apply to Rangers once you are through 68W AIT training. My question is, what is the criteria for being accepted? Or is it pretty much if you want the training and you've comple...

Re: Introducing Myself

To the Rangers who have responded to this topic and to the Rangers who have simply read over my posts, I want to sincerely apologize for what I have said. Throughout this entire process, I have allowed myself to become so big-headed with the positions that I could potentially qualify for. I had a VE...

Re: Introducing Myself

Ranger goon175, Thank you for your reply. To be honest, you pretty much hit the nail on the head there. The only thing I want to say is that I would not mind going the enlisted route. I realize that it is the best way to become a Ranger, but you're right in thinking that I don't want to disappoint m...

Re: Introducing Myself

Ranger ZoneIV, I simply meant that I would not like to jump right into "Rangering". I think it'd be better to go Infantry Officer, serve in active duty there, then in a few years attempt to go Ranger Officer. I'm pretty positive that my friend has served in the Regiment. He will be talking...

Re: Introducing Myself

Ranger goon175, I'm really not sure. He's my sister's ex-boyfriend, so I really haven't talked to him in years. I've only just recently spoken with him a few times. It is by no means any offense to you, but I don't think I feel comfortable asking him that information and then posting that on the int...

Re: Introducing Myself

Ranger goon175, Thank you for your reply. I have decided not to go the enlisted route. I see the Rangers as a goal to achieve in years to come. I think I need to have the experience and leadership skills prior to attempting to become one. I have narrowed my options down to two. One option would be t...
