Re: Hi and thanks for a great site!!!
I'm getting the info from his initial orders - they have him remaining at Ft Jackson for his 13 week AIT. They definitely say he is a 92R Option 40. I had him ask at MEPS both times to make sure it was right. I knew that Rigger school was at Fort Lee they told him both times his orders were right ...

Re: Hi and thanks for a great site!!!
Thanks for the clear up in RASP and Ranger School - they must make it purposefully confusing for OPSEC reasons. I actually just wrote him a long letter telling him basically what you said K.Ingraham - about it being Ranger or me/family - I'm familiar with the lifestyle. In the end I leave the ...

Pre-airborne school? Unless things have changed dramatically a person needing Pre-airborne school is going to be in serious trouble when starting RASP
Well from what my hubby is telling me things HAVE changed drastically. They aren't allowed to smoke them anymore or make them do 20 pushups. The ...

Re: Hi and thanks for a great site!!!
I don't want to make a whole new thread to give a minor update.
Hubby is in BCT right now. Set to graduate at the end of September. Then he is slated for AOC which I learned is an Airborne School PreReq that basically just gets them ready for the tons of PT. From what I understand the AOC can be ...

Re: Hi and thanks for a great site!!!
correction: He'll be going to Airborne before he goes to actual rigger AIT. It's a little different for riggers. Don't know about the Prereq at Jackson but the Benning part is Airborne. RASP is at Benning too, fyi...

Re: Hi and thanks for a great site!!!

Here's a pic of me that someone (or two) asked about.
So my husband leaves in about 40 days. We're excited to get the adventure started.
Happy Memorial Day, Rangers and all troops past, present and future.

Hi Ranger al_2ndWolfhounds
I understand everything you wrote. It is very clear thank you for that. What I don't understand is what my husband's contract means. Specifically what is PREREQ at Jackson is that RASP? What is the PREREQ at Benning? Is that Airborne School? Then after he goes to rigger ...

Re: Hi and thanks for a great site!!!
And no worries about sharpshooting - I'll take all the help I can get. We really have no idea and are happy to learn as much as possible. His recruiter did say that the coding on his contract meant he would be in the 75th after going through and passing Ranger School. We are thinking it's him having ...

Airborne School then to 3 weeks of RIP and his first duty assignment is listed as Ranger School.
Welcome to the site, Candee. Your husband should double check his orders...this doesn't sound right.
Do you mind telling me in what manner this doesn't sound correct? I'm pretty sure that's what ...

My Father retired in 2001. I know that I was stationed in Italy and caught a flight to Bragg for 7 short days. It was awesome because they actually did a HALO jump into his ceremony.
Here's a pic of us at the ceremony. Feel free to PM me if you know him. And don't hold it against him that he doesn ...

Haha - I'll post some pics soon. Thanks for the warm welcome and I apologize for putting Ranger in my name. I read that rule but had already requested the username. Hopefully I'll be able it in the future. I have sent a PM with a username change request. Hopefully that's the only posting error I'll ...

Hi and thanks for a great site!!!
Hello!
I came across this site hunting for more info on my husband's recently signed contract. I am an Army Veteran - I was a 46R Broadcaster stationed in Uijongbu South Korea from 98-99 and in Vicenza, Italy from 99-01. I got out right after 9/11.
I'm also a military brat (as are both of my ...
