I found this old thread, and just wanted to add that when I started Ranger School in April 1971, the LT who was the Kent State ROTC student Battalion Commander was in my class. He broke his leg on the jump into Mountain Camp. What an ironic way for him to bust out of Ranger School.

Pat - check in with Charlie on this site. He just showed up recently as well. You guys will be a week apart on ship dates but you will most likely end up in the same Jump School or RASP class. Years ago, The Army Staff supported creating pre-Ranger training for ARNG soldiers. It proved successful, and it has continued. You will attend BCT, AIT, and pre-Ranger before you go to Ranger School. If you have questions, please go to the Fort Benning web page. Never, never quit!
