Re: Desert Phase
Well, when I went to Ranger school in 1977, from 1/75 we had no desert phase. Just the standard three, Benning, mountain and Florida. WTF?

Desert Phase
Guys,
When I went to Ranger school there was no desert phase (1977). I understand desert phase was phased out around '95, but when did it begin?

Re: Interested in an AR-15
I would suggest buying a Bushmaster or Rock River complete AR. You can spend around a grand or less, find out if you like the setup and either modify your existent rifle (if you like it) or sell and be no worse for wear. In the state I live .223 is illegal for big game, for good reason.

Try Ted Yost or Jim Garthwaite. Both are top drawer.

Re: FN SCAR opinions
Thank you for the information. The best new prices I have been quoted are $2285 for the SCAR 5.56 and $2425 for the SCAR 7.62. Meh... I'd rather get an M4 variant for under a K and sink the rest in a good optic. But I have been using a CAR/M4 for eons and do admit a little bias... That is a variabl...

FN SCAR opinions
Hey guys, I got to play with a SCAR L then other day (although I was not able to fire it). I liked about everything about it. Ergos, weight, comes up to the shoulder very well. Before I drop that kind of coin though, I wanted some input from some folks who have actually used one. I don't care where ...

OK, I try to respond to a PM and the message goes to my outbox. WTF? Is the message actually going out or what? If not, what the Hell do I need to do?

Me (M60), back in the day, circa 1976. The bottom one is at Parandak, Iran. We were there as representatives of the U.S. Army and competed in small unit competition with other countries of the (now defunct) CENTO treaty organization. http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l81/Kammerjaeger/Loren1976.jpg M60

No, missed that one - I was otherwise engaged at the time. Rock Island Ranger and I both replied to your verification request, so you shouldn't be hanging around out here in the cold too long, once the gears start turning behind the scenes. Hawk was going to sign on later and comment too, don't kno...
