Ranger Jim,
I'm learning MSA, so the only dialect we get is when our teachers accidentally let a word or two slip, or they feel like sharing something with us. All I can think of right now is how to say "high five!" in sudanese.

SITREP
Rangers, I'm about half-way through the course here at DLI. My GPA is currently a 3.8 and my last PT test was a 277. I've gotten my run down to a 13:38 and max my push ups, but my situps are still stuck in the mid 60's. There's not much else to update right now, just studying the language everyday.

Rangers, it's been a while since I've posted here. I graduated BCT on Apr 30 and moved on to DLI in Monterey. Basic was alright.. kind of disappointing. We weren't allowed to run on our own because of fat kids breaking their hips too often, and the PT wasn't much. I got promoted to PFC while I was t...

Can 35w get an Opt. 40?
My recruiter told me that it's not possible for a 35w to enlist with and Opt. 40 or and Opt. 4 because their training can take up to 2 years, does anyone know if this is true? He called the ROC and right in front of me and they said the same thing, I'd just like to be 100% sure, I emailed the Ranger...

Re: Update.
Ranger panthersix, I've started dropping down and doing 10-20 situps and flutterkicks throughout the day, that's what I did with pushups and it worked pretty well.

Re: update
Ranger Baseplate, my recruiter told me an option 40 isn't available with a 35w contract so I asked him to call and make sure, so he did and they don't give option 40 or even option 4 with a 35w contract because of the length of the training, which makes sense because it sounds like it would be diffi...

Re: update
Rager Bill, I thought the Regiment needed 35Ps and 35Ns, which is what I'll become when I've completed my training. I was thinking that with the RSTB there would be more of a need for an MI mos, when I go to MEPS on Monday I'll see if they have anything the regiment needs. here's the link to where I...

Re: update
Thanks for the info Ranger Baseplate, it's worth a shot, even if my chances are slim, so I'll give it my all and if it doesn't work out maybe I'll reenlist into an mos that the regiment needs.

Re: update
Rangers, I found out that they don't give opt. 40 contracts to 35w recruits because of how long the training is. I couldn't even get an opt. 4, the only way to go to RIP is to volunteer while at DLI so I'll do that.

Re: update
Sorry Ranger Bill, I didn't mean that I would settle for anything less than an opt. 40 just that I wasn't sure if I would be able to get it on my first try, I should have been more clear when I said that. If they say it's not open then I'll tell them I'll see what the Air Force has to offer, if that...

Re: update
Rangers, my trip to the recruiter got reschedule for 1 o'clock tomorrow, I guess one more day of waiting isn't too bad.
