Army Has Lowered their Target Recruitment for the Year

I have read and heard that the Army has lowered, for the second month in a row, their recruitment goal and their reenlistment goal. Thus they will be selective with who they do send to MEP's. Basically no waivers, no candidates with issues, no prior service, etc.. Can someone in the know confirm or ...

Re: Prior Service and AIT

I have received an answer to this question. I will post it, in case anyone is interested. For rank, would need to have a waiver to retain last rank held. For prior service going through Warrior Transition Course and then an AIT that is part of a OSUT, the prior service will join the OSUT after the B...

Prior Service and AIT

I hate to ask this but I couldn't find the info through searching this site. Searching the internet yielded answers that were contradictary to other answers. I am a prior service Marine. The recruiter told me I would go to Warrior Transition Course and then AIT. For Infantry would I enter OSUT at th...

Re: Former Marine Future Soldier

Thank you 289sotherhalf.

Thank you Ranger Bill. I am scouring this site to ensure I am as prepared as I can be when I get that opportunity. I agree, there will be no luck involved.

Re: Former Marine Future Soldier

JLTW, I agree with both of your statements. Not to slam either MP's or Cav Scouts but I have done more searching and while I think they are both valuable and important, they don't seem to be what I am seeking. I guarantee that they have some hardchargers there but I would rather not be the big fish ...

Re: Former Marine Future Soldier

Hey Marine, I'm very impressed with the high level of humility you are showing here. That will prove to be a very positive thing in your favor if you make it to Regiment. As for your conditioning, I seriously doubt that you are in bad shape. Because you have the intestinal fortitude to succeed in b...

Re: Former Marine Future Soldier

Thank you, K.Ingraham, I will search through the mos list. I was thinking infantry but I hadn't given too much thought towards the other mos's available to Ranger Regiment. For some reason Cav Scout and MP also interest me . I would still want to go to Airborne School and Ranger School. I have been ...

Re: Former Marine Future Soldier

OOH-Rah, Steadfast, I think I am squared away now. I will just reread the rules a few more times to be sure. LOL Thank you Smokin38 and Garyedolan. Garyedolan, I thought the youngster part was funny until I saw the time frame you served, we would call that the "Old" Corps, not sure if you ...

Re: Former Marine Future Soldier

Thank you, Ranger Steadfast.

I should have included this in the intro but is it better to go to MEPs Oct 1 so as to have all options available? Thank you.

Former Marine Future Soldier

Hello Rangers, Veterans, Dep'ers, et al, I am a former Marine looking to reenlist and continue to serve. I have been out for 8 years. I signed up with the Marine Corps to be in Security Forces, even have it to this day written in my SRB, somehow the they must have decided I would rather be a Radar R...
