Re: Charlemagne-Introduction
Gee, until this young Marine, opened my eyes, I didn't realize I had such a shitty career. Its to bad you spent so much time in college and the police academy before you realized you didn't want to be a cop. It really was a waste of time for you, if that is the understanding of what you thing a cop ...

Re: Prior Service Marine Going Officer
There are many former officers on this site that an help you out. From my experience of Battalion life in the mid 80's, I only saw one 2nd LT. assigned to Batt. All platoon leaders were 1st LT's. They had all commanded a rifle platoon in another unit before coming to Battalion.

Re: SitRep
Congratulations. Good Luck and do everything you can to succeed. There are so many posts from young men who want to do what this young man has done and sign a contract to become a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment, and being told by a recruiter that there are no more Option 40 contracts for the res...

Re: Option 40 Or OCS
Another thing you would have to consider, if you want to be in the 75th Ranger Regiment is, how long you want to be there. If you went in as an enlisted man, you could spend much of your career there, and stay nearly as long as you'd like. If you were a commissioned officer the chances of staying in...

Re: OAKLEY
There is a difference in Oakley boots dependant on the manufactured location of the boot. US manufactured boots have better stitching around the soles that in my experience tend to hold up better than the non-us versions. In my opinion the boots are comfortable and light, (good for rucking, boot/ki...

That sucks. You can't even wear the shirt, without being called a poser. LOL I went through JM school, but only had enough total jumps to get my senior jump wings. Towards the end of my enlistment, and while on reserve status, the military was trying to save money, and air assets was way down. I cou...

Re: Swiming lessons
If you want to be a Ranger, you better know how to swim. Do some research on the swim test required to get into RASP. If you aren't real comfortable in the water, you will fail, which back when I was in, meant you failed RIP, and were sent packing.

I'm still waiting for my Jungle Expert badge, from JWTC, when I was in Panama. Now that school was hard. The scuba and snorkeling was incredible.

I've got one of those. But I have it on my M4 and think my pd would get pretty pissed if I gave it to you. They do work great though. Good Luck finding one.Shamrock wrote:Gents,
Anyone out there have a Eotech that they want to get rid of? Looking for AA battery Gen III 556 version.

Re: Record of RS attendees?
Couple of tips, don't give rumors any credibility and don't think too much or you will be sowing the seeds of defeat. My attitude adjustment speech, while short, is that going and graduating from RS is a black/white decision. Sometimes its good to have more balls than brains :) What he said. Beside...

Re: Hello Rangers!
If the girlfriend is against you living your dreams, ditch her. As for your aspirations to be on FBI HRT. You have a long way to go, and probably a slimmer chance of making it then being an officer in the Regiment, unless you have prior military experience in a SOF unit. Also you would first have to...
