I went to meps and secured my 11x Option 40. I know I haven't made the best impression here but I will NOT waste this opportunity and I WILL become a Ranger. Continuing PT.

I won't accept anything other then 11x Opt 40 so that was a dumb question. If I can't get it, can I drop my contract and just wait until whenever the MOSs come back up?

Seeing as I already have 11x, should I go forward with the Reno? I heard my 11x could get blown out if I try to change anything.

I'm supposed to go to MEPs tomorrow to add option 40 to my 11x and today my recruiter calls me up and says he got an email saying the Army is cutting slots for 65+ jobs including infantry, "so [he] can't guarentee [I'll] get Airborne Ranger as 11x." Is this for real?

Its been a while since I posted and this sitrep is long overdue, so here goes. I enlisted 20100604, and put off my ship date to wait for Ranger slots to open up. I got lucky and got one of the first openings a couple weeks ago, because I was in the Recruiters office almost every day ...

I took the ASVAB last week (I couldn't post due to internet troubles). Though I didn't expect the test to be hard, it was surprisingly easy. Now that I have taken it, I will be looking into the DEP. More updates to come.
