Re: Random thought of the moment.

My buddy, Bear, went on a walkabout in the woods and ran smack dab into a bear. For a reason I cannot explain, I find this really funny.

Maybe it is just Monday. :D :D

Re: RFID chips/GPS tracking in pistols

There are two issues in play. One is inventory management for weapons (in general) and the other is friendly fire. There has been some work in smart weapons that will recognize a friendly gun and not fire on it , and/or only be fired by a certain individual (for home use). No legal edict that I kno...

Re: RFID chips/GPS tracking in pistols

Ive never heard of this. If its true, what legal edict put it in motion? The possibility of its use doesnt surprize me with the current political climate however, doubt the ability of anything in a cost effective package lasting any meaningful time. Rock Island Ranger - There are two issues in play...

Re: RFID chips/GPS tracking in pistols

Power, size, proximity and antenna seem to be concerns. As well as physical abuse on the unit. These pics are from a fair bit ago. Technology has improved drastically since, so it may be that they are smaller, yet just as effective now. Abuse, I would think, is still an issue. But, let's assume prox...

A university. I am just an academic who happens to be a behavioralist, and one of my research lines happens to be in IT security. It is an intriguing field.
